| Description | Bournemouth has a fantastic beach which spans several miles plus in a giant arch like shape. There are some fantastic views to be had, from the beach and the cliff top paths. The pier in the centre is the main focal point on the beach and generally the busiest part from which you can catch a variety of boat rides or grab a coffee. In the summer Bournemouth gets quite busy with lots of tourists, it's quite a popular place to go for a holiday.
There are hotels along the beach, such as The Marriot Hotel which is positioned near to the pier, with a great view raised above the beach on the cliff top. On the other side of the pier we have the Royal Bath Hotel. Both of these hotels are beautiful places to stay. There are plenty of other hotels and bed and breakfasts to choose from in the surrounding areas.
Bournemouth is well known for it's beach huts. The beach huts are actually quite pricey and add a certain charm to the beach. During the summer you'll find various beach parties are being organised along the beach. People also like to take disposable barbecues, but just make sure you check the beach regulations which are sign posted along the beach, as barbecues can be restricted.
If you haven't been to Bournemouth, I'd highly recommend it, having moved down here myself several years ago, the warm climate, the beautiful beaches. The area is well maintained, public pathways, litter free. A great place for beach photos and pictures.
Bournemouth has a variety of attractions to offer. The town itself situated right next to the beach has a lovely central park area which didves the centre in two. Nearby hotels offer a 5 minute walking distance to get straight into the action. As well as many events held in the park during the summer, there is also the hot air balloon in the park from which you can a ride to get some great views of the area. During the summer Bournemouth has also been holding the Bournemouth Air Festival, which is a great chance to see the Red Arrows, and many other aerobatics flying along the beach, quite an experience. There is a beach train which runs along the promenade.
Bournemouth has a variety of night life, with some night clubs and bars open to around 5 and 6am, such as Toko and Camel, though most tend to close around by the 3am mark such as Bliss and Klute. 1812 usually offers live jazz music and classy cocktails, Bar So next door is great to get some dance moves down with some funky house. Pubs are dotted all around the town. There are plenty of restaurants to chose from in the day.
Bournemouth is quite continental and you can at times easily feel you're somewhere other than England as you hear different languages been spoken all around. It's a very friendly place, and is can be quite popular for stag and hen dos.
Plenty to do for the family in the day time, and plenty to do in the evening time, Bournemouth is highly recommended as a place to visit in England, especially because of the beach and the sun is usually out more. |
